This policy explains what information Central Jersey Water ("we," "us") collects through centraljerseywater.com, how we use it, and who we share it with. By using this website or sending a request through it, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you request a consultation we collect what you type into the form: your name, phone number, email address, street address (if you provide it), ZIP code, water source, the service you are interested in, and any message you write.
Information collected automatically
Along with your request we record the page you sent it from, any campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source), and the time of the request. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, browser type, and pages requested. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you across other websites. This website does not set advertising cookies.
How we use your information
- To respond to your request and arrange your free consultation.
- To pass your request to an independent water treatment provider, as described below.
- To contact you by phone, text message, or email about your request, as you agreed when you submitted the form.
- To filter spam and automated submissions, and to keep the website secure.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the website.
- To comply with the law and protect our rights.
Who we share your information with
Independent local providers. Central Jersey Water does not install or service equipment itself. Your request may be shared with an independent, locally operating water treatment provider so that it can contact you, schedule the consultation, and do any work you decide to buy. That provider is a separate business. Its own privacy practices govern what it does with your information after it receives it.
Service providers. We use companies that host this website, deliver email, and provide analytics. They process information only to provide those services to us.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe disclosure is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others.
Business transfers. If this website or business is sold, transferred, or merged, the information we hold may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
We share your request only to answer the request you made. We do not share your information with anyone for their own unrelated marketing.
Text messages
If you give us a mobile number, we or the provider handling your request may text you about it. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. Mobile numbers and text messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
How long we keep information
We keep consultation requests for as long as needed to handle them and to keep business records, generally no longer than three years, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Spam submissions are discarded.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS and access to submitted requests is limited to the people who handle them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can opt out of texts by replying STOP and out of email by asking us to stop. You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. New Jersey residents have rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, including the rights to confirm whether we process their personal data, to access, correct, and delete it, to obtain a copy, and to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. To make a request, use the form on our homepage and say what you are asking for in the message box. We will respond within the time the law allows. If we decline your request, you may appeal by sending a second request that says "appeal."
Children
This website is meant for adults arranging service for their homes. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Pages on this site link to utilities, government agencies, and other sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. Changes apply from the date they are posted.
